The Heart of Gratitude Journey

Here is my take on gratitude today:

"Be known for having a grateful attitude, so that when you part company . . . that memory of you stays in their heart like the smell of a much loved book or the comforting aroma of a freshly baked cupcake.  Leave them wanting more of you! from Nancy, the curator of cute.
(Dana calls me that!)

I am partnering up on this super fun project with my friend Dana, whom I met last summer.  She is one of the kindest and most giving women that I've ever known.  She's a Nanny by trade, with impeccable credentials and not just because she has four 4 kids!  She truly is just about as close to being Mary Poppins as humanly possible and is as beautiful inside as she is on the outside!

She is is also su·per·ca·li·fra·gil·is·tic·ex·pi·a·li·do·cious creative and talented in many fields, but I'm just going to bliss-out on her mixed-media art.  And it really is ART!  I warned her in advance I'm going to swipe a lot the photos of her gorgeous work to use as graphic backgrounds for the gazillion gratitude graphics that you will be seeing all over the net!   She is a completly awesome lady!

The below photo is a page in a scrapbook kinda deal she did for her kid, I think it was.  Who scrapbooks like this?  My Mary Poppins friend, that's who!  When I saw this photo in her Instagram feed, I pretty much knew we would be friends for life!  First her eye for detail is incredible, you might even say mesmorizing!  And she flippin' cracked me up!  I love this picture, it is sooooo creative and cute and a little bit cray-cray, ya know?

So, moving on.  This post is about introducing my collaboration with Dana on our 21 Day Journey into the Heart of Gratitude.
Heart and Art are going to to explode into all kinds of challenges, contests, giveaways, prizes & more!
We've planned 3 givaways, but I'm feeling like she is, that there is going to be way more than that.  Once we get this on a roll and start gifting our gratitude, I think she will be making lots of trips to the post office! (cause I don't want a flood to hold them hostage, like before and yes, there was another flood on Wednesday night, bedroom this time, yikes!)

We are posting photos, stories, graphics and anecdotes about gratitude, thankfulness and being happy!

Come see our stuff and even more, use the hashtag #theheartofgratitude and share your stuff with us!  I would love to start an awesome pinterest board with all the hashtagged lovelies as well as share them in blog posts, Instagram and Facebook.  Dana tweets as well!

Here's my bud, Dana taking a selfie after a particularly good haircut day . . . very excited!!  Below are her social media sites as well as her blog here.  Be prepared to be whisked away into a wonderland of whimsy and delight!

I had a doozy of a time trying to get a decent shot of this little polymer cupcake at night, but I persevered and was grateful for the few good ones I got! :)

I love doing this little heart thing with the old books.  I just looks super cool to me!!

This one is a little hodge podge photo of my cupcake and some other random things!

This journey is less about us and more about YOU.

Gratitude of the heart is the ACT of LIVING . . . Thankfully

It is not only a positive way to live, it is a healthy way to live. In a NY Times Science article the author notes that, "Cultivating an “attitude of gratitude” has been linked to better health, sounder sleep, less anxiety and depression, higher long-term satisfaction with life and kinder behavior toward others..."

So the Heart of Gratitude, for Dana and I, is about being thankful for those around us and being thankful for you, our readers, watchers and casual stalkers. (She thought that line up, I stole it!)

And we are going to be show our thankfulness to you by showering you with glitter bombs!  Okay, maybe only virtual glitter bombs. ;)

This is a photo of my friend, Renay.  It took her a while to perfect the whole glitter blowing thing, she told me the other day, not as easy as it appears!  She just recently did a launch of her design studio named Pretty Much Design Studio.  It is totally awesome, so gorgeous!  Take a moment to check her out, even if you just need an eye candy fix.  You'll fill up!!

The first giveaway is next week with the next blog post on the 10th, which is a Wednesday.  To enter the giveaways you must comment.  Comment here on my blog, comment on our Instagram accounts, comment on our Facebook accounts, comment on Dana's blog posts and we will play COUNT the comments for each giveaway.  You can follow us.  (That's cute and we like that.)  But you don't have to.  (cause we don't want to force anyone to do anything, that's not so cute) But if you don't comment, we won't know if you are there.  We won't know what you are thinking. And that would be sad.

Lurking gets you nothing. Actually, it's okay to be a lurker.  But then there comes a time to step out and be brave!  We hope you'll find some inspiration here on this journey to be you and to be grateful for just that, YOU!  Share a little of who you are.  I bet you are interesting, creative, and much funnier and yes, cuter than you think you "know".

That's it!  Now, from here through the end of the month, it's going to be all about be grateful!  Look for us everywhere!!  Sorry if we clog your various feeds, suck it up and be GRATEFUL!  Our next blog post is scheduled for February 10th, where, again, we will announce our first #GRATEFULGIVEAWAYS.  Be ready to be one grateful girl when you see what we have in store for you!!

So, what is the state of your Heart of Gratitude?  Does it need a little sparkle, a little warming up, a little color, or are you already living out daily acts of thankfulness?  Leave a Comment to let me know where you are at on this journey!  And go visit Dana too, you are certain to adore her!

Is there anything we can do to help you, we're pretty creative like that!  Let's do this, ladies!!

CRAFT HAPPY!

  6. I love this. I love living my life with a heart full of gratitude. It truly is something you have to make a habit of doing.
In the fall of 2013 I took a class called Soul Restoration and it simply changed my life.
A few months ago I met Dana on a nanny group that was I on. I checked out her blog....and I knew that she was an incredibly talented artist with a beautiful heart and soul.
Excited to be on this journey with you all.

    1. Hey, Just G!

I am thrilled you've joined us on the gratitude journey. It's the first time I've done something like this, in either hosting and/or participating and the same for Dana I believe and least in the hosting part. So we are kind of just winging it and going with the flow.

So far, it has been spectacular! So, so much fun and such lovely interaction with so many peeps! I would totally do this again and we are only 3 days into it!! Again, thanks for joining us!!
