The Epic Pancake Adventure - Grand Cooking With Zami!

A sweet friend of mine, by the name of Richelle, commented on this blog post,  "6 Steps to Making Cooking & Clean Up FUN for Kids!"
that I did last month.  Actually, a lot of ladies commented on this post, which Zami thought was so totally cool!  Here is what Richelle said:

"Awwww, you & Zami make a great team!! I think you should make this a regular thing <3"  Red Scorpio Handmade who by the way just finished a very cool book called:

                   *Handmade gifts don’t suck*
"Let’s just start with that. If you make something with your hands and put your heart & soul into it, it’s not going to suck even if it doesn’t turn out as well as you hoped. Handmade is beautiful.
But…
Just because something is handmade does not mean it automatically makes a great gift. I am going to go out on a limb here and say your Dad probably doesn’t want a yarn wrapped tin can pencil holder for his desk. Unless you are like seven, and then he would for sure love it. If you are older than 18, you need to up your game."

Anyway, back to Zami!  So, I listened to Richelle, cause she's obviously pretty smart right?  I'm thinking to post it twice a month, on the 1st & 3rd Sunday.  Sound good?

I did a guest blog post yesterday on this very adventure for the site The Pocket Source (Awesome site and blog, by the way) and today I'm doing one for you!  With lot's of yummy photos and less words! :)

We were going to do those kind of pancakes that you squeeze from a picnic ketchup bottle and make all kinds of designs and cool stuff.  I know I have 2 or 3 them in the house . . .  cause I just saw them the other day.  Well, I couldn't find them.  Poop.
However, since this is an adventure . . . we went with the flow!  We did it the old fashioned way. We found it in an old Cookbook from 1957, where you simply used a spoon to pour and drip the pancake batter to form the shape you desire!  Zami was only slightly challenged (okay, me too) when he had to think how to make a backward Z, a mirror image.
I set up for the photo shoot before I called Zami down to my place, just as a time saver.  I think though, one of these times I'll let him stage the kitchen for our cooking adventure!

So, here is "The Epic Pancake Adventure!"

Let us know if you think this is a pretty awesome idea too!  Do you have any thoughts about what you might like to see us cook?  What should be on the menu with "Grand Cooking with Zami!"  And just so you know, ladies . . . every time I go upstairs now, Zami wants to know "How many comments, now?"  "Am I even more famous?"

Oh, I almost forgot!  Zami's last cooking post was also featured on Sarah Shotts's Love Letter to Adventure.  Check it out!  Zami was so excited to see that! :)

I also put the cutest watercolor photo that Sarah did of a porthole (my vision, she says it's something from the Hobbit, I think) on the right side bar of my blog.  If you click on it, it will take you to Sarah's awesome website and you can see all the link ups and put your own in too!

Thanks for visiting ladies!!
